North of Springfield, take 125 north past Ashland or south through Virginia,
east on Newmansville Road, you should see the brown park signs on 125. For the main equestrian area continue on
this road past the big stone-framed sign. Continue on Newmansville Road, it turns into Co Highway 2. There are
twists and turns and eventually you will see Questing Hill Road, it is a quick jog off of a turn on Co Hy 2. Less
than 1/2 mile and you will see the area on the left.
There is an additional equestrian trail head called the south trail head (this is the Governors trail).
For this one turn left off of Newmansville Road at the large stone-framed sign to the park. You will pass the
campground office on the right side, just keep going, the road is fairly narrow and turns alot, eventually you will
see parking area Q-4. You will know it because it is the only parking area you see that will fit a horse trailer.
there are no signs but you will see the bathrooms and a covered map board like at the campground office. It doesnt
look like more than 5 or 6 rigs can fit in the area. On 3/18/2015 I visited this area and a sign said
open April 1 noon to sundown until May 17.
Open until Nov 1, then open Mondays and Sundays only from Nov 1 - Nov 15, then closed after Nov 15.
